Novi Irnawati

I solve problems in IT. Software Engineering. Data Engineering. Product Builder.

I've moved across stacks and even outside software engineering throughout my career. I've built digital banking platforms (web and mobile) servings millions of user, for one of the Indonesia's largest private owned bank. Now I'm exploring what that skill set looks like in other industries.

Open to collaboration in software engineering, technical writing, delivery management, AI code evaluation and software architecture consulting.

About

I am an IT practitioner with experience spanning development, systems analysis, technical leadership, and solution architecture. I'm interested in building simple, reliable software and exploring how AI can amplify human judgment. This site is where I share projects, technical notes, and reflections from that journey.

What is unusual though, I didn't start in code. I started in IT security at a state-owned bank, managing security projects. That job taught me early that technology is never purely technical, it's contractual, organizational, and deeply human. From there I went into a management trainee program at one of Indonesia's privately owned banks, then spent six years in software engineering.

From there: developer, tech lead, solution architect. Each jump meant a different set of tools and a different way of thinking, fast. The tech lead role had the blurriest edges of the three, nobody drew clear lines around what belonged to that title, so I filled the gap myself: reviewing vendor contracts before a procurement decision one week, debugging a pipeline nobody else wanted to touch the next.

That's the pattern more than any title. New stack, new process, new kind of problem, I get productive fast and don't get attached to one language or workflow. Engineering is the base, but the work keeps pulling me into architecture, planning, and writing things down for other people. Underneath all of it is the same instinct from that first infosec job at the bank.

Jun 15, 2026 Good news and bad news. Bad news: most of this site is still under construction. Good news: that means you’re early. I’m actively building this portfolio hub out, and things are being added bit by bit. Check back in a little while and it’ll look a lot more alive.
